Class Description
Flying Low' (movement method by David Zambrano) deals with the relationship of the dancer with the floor, the space and other dancers in the room. Using specific principles, we glide in and out of the floor with ease and we practice constantly seeing ourselves and the space from all sides at all times. Movement sequences and improvisation tasks are used to train body awareness, alertness and to celebrate our own movement ability as well as the joy of dancing together.
About the Teacher
Khadidiatou Bangoura (she/her) uses dance as a tool to analyze our relationships to ourselves, to our environment and with each other - for new narratives and more self-reflection. Her work is influenced by her study of flying low, passing through and improvisation with David Zambrano. She is interested in musicality as well as modes of perception and for the last two years been researching possibilities to increase the accessibility of dance training and dance performances for blind and visually-impaired people.
