Class Description
The class starts with a recurring set of exercises, allowing dancers to investigate the Countertechnique® principles in detail. The second half of the class consists of changing components, working towards luscious movement combinations. The Countertechnique® class results in dancers using less energy, losing their fear of taking risks and gaining speed in changing direction.

About the Teacher
Born and raised in Florida, Samuel Melecio-Zambrano (they/them) is a dancer and teacher based in San Francisco, California. Samuel has worked with BANDALOOP, Robert Moses' Kin, Kinetech Arts, Kristin Damrow & Company, Mark Foehringer Dance Projects, among others. After training with Anouk van Dijk in Melbourne, Australia, they have attended three One Body, One Career Countertechnique intensives (2018, 2019, 2021) and completed the Countertechnique Teacher Training in 2021.
Please pre-register to take a class. The first 30 pre-registered people to show up will get to take class.
What should I bring?
• Danceable clothing that you’re comfortable in!
• Face mask, if desired. Masks are optional in class.
• We recommend taking class barefoot or in socks, some styles in clean sneakers
• Water bottle
